Madeira 2024 #9 | On film: On the roads of Calheta

Not long after the walk through Camacha , I went for another walk. This time it was all about the streets of Calheta. A town by the sea, in the south-west of the island. As usual, it went up and down.

There were hardly any people on the road and I walked along the streets for cars for a long time. I passed houses, looked into their driveways, discovered a funny plant, enjoyed the letterboxes and was surprised that the vegetation in this region allowed bananas to be grown. In retrospect, the sight of the banana plants reminded me of Vietnam. But it wasn't as humid in Calheta - until it started to rain. Before the rain started, the sun shone wonderfully warm and I was rewarded with a beautiful view of the valley and the sea.

    1. Danke dir!
Das stimmt – die Assoziation kam unerwartet und hat mich auch amüsiert, irgendwo im nirgendwo auf Madeira.
